Last official speeches by SD 79 Trustees before being fired.

On June 30 2012, the SD 79 Board of Trustees met for the last time officially with the public. The Minister of Education George Abbott, of the BC Christy Clarke Liberals, had threatened to fire the Board if they did not submit a balanced budget. The trustees has submitted a Restoration Budget to the BC Ministry of Education because they believed that children in Cowichan Valley deserved a budget that represented their needs, not Chronic underfunding by the BC Christy Clark Liberals. The Minister of Education fired the Trustees on July 1st, 2012 and replaced them with the Superintendent of Surrey.
