Teachers' only bargaining chip is 'volunteer' time

Wake up, B.C.! I couldn't believe my eyes reading people lambasting teachers for stopping "volunteer work." How many volunteer hours do you put in at your job each year?


These teachers don't want to stop this, they are being forced to; either that or fall in line as the great dictators demand. Please consider the good that collective job action has done over the years: women's rights, racial equality, minimum wages, worker safety, etc. Where would these things be if it weren't for labour movements?


Striking is on its way to becoming illegal in Canada and our right not to have contracts simply imposed on us.
