B.C. teachers Tweet up their love for the job

They #love2teach

1. Their students marked Valentine’s Day by going desk to desk, handing cards to classmates.

   But some B.C. teachers spread their own Feb. 14 cheer by using social media. The hashtag #love2teach spread through the Twitterverse this week, trending in Vancouver and even drawing tweets from people in the United States and Israel.

   
   

   Simon Isbister, first vice-president with the Delta Teachers’ Association, said the idea came from a meeting of the association’s committee on education advocacy.

   
   

   “One of the things that they brainstormed was, what do we do on Valentine’s? How do we tie that into advocating for public education?” he said.
