Government creates lynch-mob mentality against teachers

Kamloops Daily News - Letter to the Editor

It is a very sad day when the government of British Columbia is creating a lynch mob and intimidation regarding the teacher actions over classroom sizes, composition, wages and benefits.

We as a society need to hold the government accountable for its lack of responsibility in looking after our offspring’s future.

It makes me sick to hear Minister of Education George Abbott use the intimidation factor and fear mongering against the teachers and parents by threatening to lock the teachers out for two weeks. How dare he threaten locking out the teachers when they are actually doing their jobs without any interruption.

I heard his comment when he said he’d heard parents complain they haven't talked with their children’s teachers over their education. I know for a fact that my two children’s teachers have gone out of their way by either emailing or contacting us how they are doing in school.
