Government puts school trustees in tough position

School trustees carry out a vital role in our communities.


Their job is two-fold: They are elected to advocate for public education and to oversee the management of school districts.
Recently, the job of school trustee has become very difficult.


The provincial government does not believe that trustees should advocate for public education or question the management of school districts.


The provincial government expects three things from trustees: cut budgets, take the blame and stay quiet.
