Langley teachers & parents rally @ Minister of Education's Office April 23, 2010







We were there to deliver the Community Debt Elimination Plan, developed with input from parents, teachers, CUPE and community members and to continue our call for a Forensic Audit Now!

Forensic BBQ a great Success! April 26 & 27, 2010








The Forensic BBQ, hosted buy the LTA near the SBO was a great success even if the weather didn't cooperate. We follow up with a second BBQ on Tuesday, April 27th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm. Then join us at the important School Board meeting.

Langley's Senior Management's Program of Proposed Reductions for 2010-2011

Langley's Senior Management presented this document to School District #35's Trustees on March 23, 2010 as information only. This proposed plan has yet to be approved by the Langley Board of Education - YET - on direction from Langley's Senior Management, Human Resources has been meeting with the LTA regarding plans to implement these cuts!

Teachers bring outrage to minister

Langley teachers continue to call for the superintendent's ouster.

The Langley Teachers' Association is headed to Victoria to organize a rally outside the offices of Education Minister Dr. Margaret MacDiarmid on April 23.

But before representatives go west to make their views known, the teachers' union called an emergency meeting of its members for Monday afternoon.

Sending out word Saturday, the union was putting forth emergency motions dealing with the cuts being planned by the Langley School Board to deal with its $14-million shortfall.
